ADVANSA February 2010 – Hi-tech brand Thermo°Cool™ breaks tradition in sock lines providing high quality, dual functionality and outstanding performance designed to fit the needs of anyone being outdoors. Leading brands such as Kamik, Timberland, Rywan, Cam’l, Northman will be presenting socks with Thermo°Cool™ for the coming season.
Kamik®, the Montréal based company, well-known for their line of outdoor footwear has launched a new range of performance socks: Thermo°Cool™ , incorporating fibres with a hollow core along with fibres with a channelled surface providing benefits beyond expectations and Extra Fine Merino wool available from yarn supplier Stöhr, one of the largest spinners of wool yarn in the world.

ADVANSA has also available Thermo°Cool™ FRESH. An active antimicrobial durable and non-migratory ingredient – silver ions – is inserted in the polymer during the manufacturing of the fibres. This ingredient has been shown to be highly effective in the laboratory against a wide range of microorganisms.
The action mechanism of silver ions interacts with microbes to disrupt their cellular functions, thereby, inhibiting growth of the microbial colonies. Microbes nourish out of components present in human sweat and body oils, the by-side product of this process produce smell. The silver ions will control bacteria growth on the sock and help to prevent bad odours.
